You have to see this scarf to see the way photographer John Burton and artist Julie Greig have captured the light in this modern-but-timeless, rural New Zealand image of the good shepherd. This scarf is a show-stopper: absolutely gorgeous.
Designed as a large, billowy rectangle 133cm x 105cm (52.5 x 41 inches), our shepherd scarf is beautiful worn as a scarf or wrap. But it's also a piece of art: many people buy it as a wall hanging.
The quote on this scarf is adapted from Psalm 23. It is a reminder that, wherever you are, and whatever you're doing, you are in God's hands, protected and cared for.
Note on the artists: The image on this scarf was captured by photographer John Burton, when he was working as a high country musterer in the South Island of New Zealand. It was then used to create this iconic painting by New Zealand artist, Julie Greig.
Julie Greig, from the Maniototo, Central Otago, works in charcoals and oils, and often experiments with other media and texture under soft pastel. While well known for her paintings of horses, stockmen and stockwomen, Julie paints a wide range of subjects, and has also been a children's book illustrator and designer.
